Dress Code
In order to enhance unity and camaraderie among the students, as well as sustain a professional semblance, all students are expected to consistently abide by the dress code. Students MUST wear their hair in a bun for all ballet classes. Instructors will teach students how to do this, but younger dancers will require the help of their parents. Please ask if you have questions.
Dress Code Rules:
- For females, hair must be worn in a bun for ballet classes, or off the neck and out of the eyes for all other classes
- For short hair that doesn’t reach the shoulders, students should wear a headband or use barrettes to secure the hair away from the face
- For safety reasons, no jewelry or watches in class
- Ballet slippers should be fitted like a sock, but no so tight that the toes curl up. For younger students that are in a growth spurt, it is alright to purchase slippers with a bit of growth room
- No sloppy dance clothing is allowed in ANY class. Instructors will always have the final approval on your attire for class.
Where Can I Purchase Dancewear?
Ask any SDDC instructor for recommendations. Tip: Other dance parents are also an excellent resource for the best places to shop!
